The "Design+Marketing" Special Matchmaking Event of the "Ten Chains, One Hundred Events, Ten Thousand Enterprises" Series of Activities in Zhejiang Province (Huzhou Station) empowers sustainable development of industries in Huzhou with green finance

On 27 May 2025, the “Design + Marketing” special session of Zhejiang’s “Ten Chains, Hundred Events, Ten-Thousand Enterprises” series was held in Changxing, Huzhou. At the venue, historic and classic industries signed a design-innovation strategic-cooperation agreement and a “Design + Marketing” cooperation pact, building bridges for firms and powering the province’s manufacturing upgrade. Meanwhile, Dai Wei, researcher at the Huzhou Institute of Green Finance and Sustainable Development (hereafter “Huzhou Green Finance Institute”), shared the city’s hands-on experience in using green finance to anchor industrial sustainable development, showcasing Huzhou’s innovations and unique strengths in the field.

As one of the country’s first pilot zones for green-finance reform and innovation, Huzhou has—after years of experimentation—built a six-pillar system covering (i) rules and standards, (ii) organisational structure, (iii) policy incentives, (iv) products and services, (v) fintech, and (vi) risk prevention and control. Dubbed the “Huzhou Model”, it channels sustained momentum into industrial sustainable development.

Researcher Dai Wei walked the audience through each pillar, illustrating how the system operates and what it has achieved. Case studies ranged from the “Deep-Blue Plan” ecological-restoration loan to the “Green-Loan Express” digital platform. To help firms tap available support, he mapped out Huzhou’s preferential green-finance policies and offered a five-step guide: plug into government–bank cooperation platforms, obtain green certification, match with tailored financial products, leverage international capital and policy instruments, and strengthen risk management and information disclosure.

Going forward, Huzhou’s green-finance agenda will zero in on transition finance, climate-adaptation finance and biodiversity finance, continuing to incubate innovations that marry green finance with industry and advance sustainable development. The Huzhou Green Finance Institute will keep deploying its expertise to deepen research on standards and policies, expand collaboration with domestic and overseas financial and academic institutions, and propel non-stop innovation in green-finance products and services. It will also take an active part in international exchanges, share the Huzhou experience and raise the city’s global profile in green finance—contributing still more wisdom and strength toward the realisation of the Sustainable Development Goals worldwide.
